Environments and physical structures needed to support the Operational Training

LIFE / HOSPITAL

Life and Health Zone

Logistical and medical core of the center: it houses attendee accommodation and the support hospital, interconnected with the rest of the environments for an immediate medical response during exercises.

Infrastructure Required
  • Residence-type accommodation for 100 pax (15 with private bathroom for instructors, supervisors, and VIPs).
  • Living room, conference room, briefing room, and dining hall.
  • Hall with internet access, bar counter, and cafeteria.
  • Hospital with triage, treatment room, medicalized bay, and operating room.
  • Helipad, helicopter, ambulance, and medical parking.
Training Supported
  • General program framework (the three training phases).
  • Section 3 — Operational Medicine (TCCC / TECC / MIRA / PFC).
  • Command and incident management in MASCAL.

REMOTE AREA

Remote Area

Austere, remote environment with difficult terrain, complemented by a large farmhouse-type dwelling prepared for live fire and entry techniques.

Infrastructure Required
  • Remote terrain with difficult topography for marches and patrols.
  • Main building with 2 floors, 6+ rooms, living room, dining room, and service wings.
  • Terrace, garden, grove, and garages.
  • “Hescobastion” house for live fire with a protected upper metal walkway.
  • Door prepared for MOE courses (Method of Entry / breaching).
Training Supported
  • Tactical land and maritime navigation.
  • SERE — Evasion, Extraction, and Rescue.
  • Survival in austere environments.
  • Evacuation plans and off-road / 4×4 driving.

URBAN ZONE

Urban Zone

Isolated development of houses and streets, faithful to a real neighborhood, designed for both evasive driving and indoor team progression.

Infrastructure Required
  • Wide streets for evasive driving and a staging area beforehand.
  • Townhouses / duplexes and apartments from 80 to 150 m², 2–4 bedrooms, 1–3 bathrooms.
  • Interior courtyard, entrance porch, and balcony; fully furnished.
  • Perimeter with surveillance, with modular options using shipping containers.
  • Metro or tram station linking to the airport, port, and hospital.
Training Supported
  • CQC / FIBUA / MOUT — combat in urban areas.
  • Tactical and evasive driving, road checkpoints.
  • Route security and counter-surveillance.
  • Personal protection.

VERTICAL MULTITASK BUILDINGS ZONE

Vertical Multitask Buildings Zone

A set of buildings of different heights reproducing a complete vertical neighborhood, with glass-walled rooms for supervision and spaces specialized by discipline.

Infrastructure Required
  • 7-story block with residences, a clinic, and a penthouse-style attic (300 m²).
  • Open rooms with glass partitions for supervising progression.
  • 5-story building for climbing and rappelling, with a bench-type ground floor.
  • Building for explosives use and “narco-apartments” prepared for live fire.
  • 360º observation tower for spotter and shooter.
  • 2-story casino-type building (low lighting, ambient sound).
  • Gas station and supermarket or large retail store.
Training Supported
  • Tactical entry: mechanical, ballistic, and explosive breaching.
  • Low-light operations.
  • Hostage management and negotiation.
  • Force on Force and team shooting.

UNDERGROUND ZONE

Underground Zone

A sewer network connecting the vertical and urban zones, reserved for nighttime and low-light progression.

Infrastructure Required
  • Access via a passable sewer system.
  • Physical connection with the vertical and urban environments.
  • Prepared for the use of night equipment (night vision / thermal).
  • Enabled for FX ammunition.
Training Supported
  • Low-light operations.
  • Combat in confined and tubular spaces.
  • Team progression and extraction.

MASS EVENT AREA

Mass Event Area

A replica of an air terminal designed for mass-casualty incidents and low-profile (“soft targets”) objectives.

Infrastructure Required
  • Control tower, aircraft, and terminal building.
  • CCTV circuit for supervision and control.
  • Supervision room inside the terminal itself.
Training Supported
  • Crisis management in mass-casualty events.
  • Counterterrorism and asymmetric threats.
  • Hostage management and negotiation.
  • Command and incident management in MASCAL.

SHOOTING RANGE

Shooting Range Zone

Two complementary types of range: one for long-distance precision and another modular range for tactical shooting with vehicles and moving targets.

Infrastructure Required
  • Precision range: min. 6,000 m, large caliber and anti-materiel ammunition.
  • 15 simultaneous firing positions, elevations at different heights, and moving targets.
  • “PRS”-type firing positions with different platforms.
  • Modular range x2 with vehicle access and human torso targets.
  • Container-type parapets, T-wall, barricade, and Hescobastion, up to 1,000 m.
  • Supervision and study room.
Training Supported
  • Complete Block II — Operational Tactical Weapons and Shooting.
  • Defensive, combined, and low-light shooting.
  • Team shooting from platforms and vehicles.

MARITIME ZONE

Maritime Zone

A marina and passenger vessel for working on navigation, personal protection, and amphibious operations.

Infrastructure Required
  • Cruise-type passenger ship.
  • Marina with parking, nightlife, and VIP area.
  • Recreational and leisure boats, nautical gas station.
  • Lake for maritime incursions, diving, and rowing.
Training Supported
  • Tactical maritime navigation.
  • SERE and personal protection in transit.
  • Counterintelligence and route security.

CRAWLER/TRAIL AREA

Crawler/Trail Area

A connecting and off-road circuit for convoy escort, vehicle extrication, and simulation of improvised devices.

Infrastructure Required
  • 4×4 vehicles from light to armored, trucks, and a crane.
  • Vehicle extrication zone for rolled-over vehicles.
  • Connecting road with the possibility of ambush between cliffs.
  • Simulation of IED and V-IED incidents.
  • Circuit for off-road driving and motorcycles.
Training Supported
  • Tactical driving and high mobility in the field.
  • Tactical entry and vehicle rescue.
  • Operational risk analysis and route security.
